Born and raised in Rochester, NY, DeAnne received her BFA in Musical Theatre at Ithaca College. Her passion for the arts was no surprise since she grew up in a musical family. In addition to winning various vocal competitions, DeAnne performed at the infamous George Eastman Theatre with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Pops under the direction of Jeff Tyzik before completing high school. Shortly after graduating college and moving to NYC, DeAnne tragically lost her mother to an aggressive battle with cancer. Inspired by her mom's steadfast spirit, she immediately returned to the city to begin preparing for her NYC debut as Lt. Uvula in Warp Speed: A Sci Fi Parody Musical [Best Actress in a Musical, MITF]. Her Off-Broadway debut followed shortly after with the opening of Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical! The show then kicked off a streak of travel adventures with a regional production in San Francisco, followed by travels throughout Europe and Asia originating roles for Royal Caribbean International in cutting edge shows created by The Moment Factory of Montreal, Canada. In 2019, DeAnne closed out the 2nd National Tour of BEAUTIFUL: The Carole King Musical. During her time with the show she performed on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” and PBS', “A Capitol Fourth” celebration, alongside Vanessa Carlton and Carole King herself. DeAnne is grateful to have worked with many amazing playwrights, composers and directors including Tony and Emmy Award Winner Andre De Shields and at theaters across the country such as Two Rivers, Transcendence Theatre Company, The Liberty Theatre, American Theatre of Actors and more. She is a proud member and advocate for the Black, LGBTQ+ and natural hair communities and a firm believer in the power of representation. Art is a vehicle for change and DeAnne is committed to being a part of that in this industry and society at large.
