Originally from Rochester, NY, DeAnne Stewart received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College. Her passion for the arts was always evident and no surprise given her parents' musical backgrounds. In addition to winning various vocal competitions in her early years, DeAnne performed at the famed George Eastman Theatre with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Pops under the direction of Jeff Tyzik before completing high school.
Shortly after finishing her degree and moving to NYC, DeAnne sadly lost her mother to a quick and aggressive battle with cancer. Inspired by her mom's steadfast spirit, she immediately returned to the city to begin preparing for her NYC debut as Lt. Uvula in Warp Speed: A Sci Fi Parody Musical [Best Actress in a Musical, MITF]. This performance was swiftly followed by her Off-Broadway debut in Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical! DeAnne's travel adventures began as she performed regionally with Mighty Real and internationally with Royal Caribbean International. DeAnne's career has taken her across the US, Canada, and over 20 other countries around the world.
She kicked off this decade making her Broadway debut in one of the most exciting ways an artist could imagine; performing a principal role in a riveting new musical. It's been a dream come true for her to work with Tony Award Winning director, Diane Paulus, singing the iconic music of Alanis Morrisette and Glen Ballard, that's been brilliantly arranged by Tom Kitt. In the summer of 2019, DeAnne closed the National Tour of the Tony Award Winning show, BEAUTIFUL: The Carole King Musical. Shortly after finishing tour, she was a part of Transcendence Theatre Company's new show, Those Dancing Feet, directed by Roy Lightner and choreographed by Roy, Chip Abbott and Sara Brians. DeAnne has done many new projects with amazing playwrights, composers and directors including Tony Award and Emmy Winner Andre De Sheilds.
The last few years have been full of new discoveries and professional endeavors. DeAnne has experienced firsts in commercial, film, tv and modeling opportunities which have led to exciting seconds, thirds and so on. She was a part of a series published on the digital platform, Issuu, and has worked with amazing photographers throughout North America creating beauty, fashion, boudoir, and lifestyle images. She is excited to dig her roots even deeper in those fields and expand her professional landscape.
